Peter is a senior fisheries scientist with over 15 years of experience who specializes in quantitative analysis; sturgeon and salmon biology; fish passage, telemetry, and movement; and habitat modeling, assessment, and restoration. He has worked in systems from headwater streams to the Columbia River and small Adirondack ponds to the Great Lakes. Peter’s work spans multiple disciplines including fish passage, telemetry, and habitat restoration. His broad experience allows him to bring novel approaches from a variety of fields to address applied fisheries and aquatic issues. Peter is also a versatile field biologist with extensive fish and aquatic sampling experience, and he possesses substantial project and personnel management skills and experience ensuring projects are completed on-time, within budget and with a high degree of quality. Prior to joining Four Peaks, Peter worked as a supervising fisheries biologist for the states of Oregon and Wisconsin and as a fisheries scientist and science operations manager for private consulting firms.

Peter earned his Master of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Science with a minor focus in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in both Biology and Environmental Science from Lawrence University. Peter and his family are Pacific Northwest transplants living in the Portland area. He spends his free time paddling, fishing, hiking, and engaging in pretty much any other outdoor, active pursuit he can find. If he must slow down or be indoors, he enjoys green woodworking and dabbles in furniture making.
